Paypal is not a safe way to go. They are holding almost $800. from my account for no good reason and charged someone else I know over $400. unfairly. There is a website called paypalsucks.com where many people have similar stories. I need to switch but am hesitant to go to an unknown company incase they are a scam.
If Paypal is holding your funds it is because they determined the transaction was high risk and they need to protect themselves as they clearly state they have the right to do in their Terms of Service. In fact, every company that offers payment processing in some fashions does the same thing. If your accounts has funds held by Paypal you can be sure other companies would hold your money, too. They’re the ones who stand to lose money if your transactions get charged back so it makes sense that they’re going to protect themselves.
If Paypal held that much money of yours you either need to figure out a way to do smarter business (i.e. not so risky) or you may just only be acceptable to high risk processors. I can’t say for sure since you didn’t elaborate on what you need to accept payment for.
