Start Business Credit: No Personal Credit and No Guarantee!
You can start building business credit rather quickly by applying for vendor credit lines. There are companies that are willing to extend credit to your business with no personal credit check or guarantee. Even if your company has no credit history you can get approved but expect limited terms and low credit limits at the beginning.
The benefit to start building business credit using vendor credit lines is that it will provide your business with thousands of dollars in products it needs and allow it to pay the invoices at a later date. This helps you conserve cash flow for more critical short term needs your business may have.
Another benefit is vendors report your positive payment experience to the business credit bureaus. The more vendors you establish credit lines and payment history with the stronger the business credit file you will build. This alone can positively impact the size of the credit limit recommendation for your business which is determined by the business credit bureaus and publicly disclosed on your file.
Business Credit Cards No Personal Guarantee
However, one of the biggest mistakes made by small business owners is assuming that every vendor reports their payment history to the business credit bureaus. Currently there are over 500,000 vendors who extend lines of credit to businesses but less than 6,000 report your payment experience.
So when you start building your business credit file you want to be sure to select vendors that report. You can verify this by inquiring with a vendor that you plan to apply with. Be sure to ask what business credit agency they report to and how often they report.
One of my favorite aspects to vendor credit lines is the minimal qualifications required for approval. In many cases an application only requires your business contact information, Federal Tax ID#, Dun & Bradstreet#, authorized name and signature and not your social security number or personal guarantee.

The specific vendors requesting only this information will pull a business credit report to base their approval which makes obtaining vendor credit lines much easier and more convenient compared to credit cards or loans. A prime example of one of these types of vendors is a company called Quill.
Quill offers a net 30 account and reports to Dun and Bradstreet. Best of all they report your payment experience every 30 days. For small orders you can start building business credit if your business has a listing on the 411 directories and a working website. New businesses can start out with smaller limits that will increase when you pay on time every month.
I also encourage every one of my client's to join my Business Credit Insider's Circle. As a member they gain access to all the information, sources, videos, audios, and content not available to the general public. In addition each month we report their membership payments to Dun & Bradstreet!
As you can see vendor credit provides a way to showcase your business's ability to properly handle its financial obligations, face scrutiny, and show responsibility while maintaining a reasonable debt to income ratio. So start building business credit today and avoid the use of your personal credit and guarantee.

Unsecured Business Credit Card with No Personal Guarantee?
I would like to know the name, or web link, for a specific credit card company that offers unsecured business credit cards with no personal guarantee. It must be a reputable company, of course, as I have read many articles on scam companies that offer this. I really do need a business credit card with no personal guarantee so that I can protect my personal credit and keep it separate from the business credit.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!!
you will need an EIN number to obtain a business card. another thing if your a sole owner, by law you are responsible for any debt incurred. your personal credit and assets are going to be at stake even with an EIN number.
What retail locations offer small business credit cards with no personal guarantee?
Just started a DBA and need to build business credit. Personal credit is fair, so I need locations that dont require a personal guarantee, only use a EIN or tax-id number!?
If I give a personal guarantee on a business credit card for my corpo how does it affect my personal credit?
First let me say that I DO NOT want to know how or pay you to obtain business credit without a personal guarantee!
I own a small business and I am incorporated, with an EIN and seperate business bank account. I am interested in possibly obtaining a business credit card, or a business line of credit. I was looking at some different banks/card and I notice the majority would like a personal guarantee. I have no problem with that, I just would like to know how it will affect my personal credit. Does the business credit card/line of credit show up on my personal credit report? Is there a hard inquiry when applying and/or giving my personal guarantee? If I apply for a business credit card/line of credit with a bank/credit card company that I currently have a personal credit card through does the business card affect that personal card? Any information would be great. Seems like all the info out there is about getting business credit without a personal guarantee, and paying for that info. Thanks!
You are just starting as a DBA while there are plenty of Class S corporations out there with million dollar revenues that have to give personal guarantees for the first few years, Even for just utilities.
Good Luck on your endeavor
Can a collections comapny report business credit card debt on your personal credit?
I asked a question on here earlier about an ex-co-worker and got no answers. It was very thorough.
The bottomline is she had a failed home based business. She opened up a few business credit cards (two office supply stores and a gas card). She owes $1,200 on one of the office supply store cards and the collections agency has been hounding her for payment.
It is my understanding that she opened these cards using her Tax ID Number, and made it a point not to issue a personal guarantee because she didn’t want the business credit to be tied into her personal credit. The credit cards were issued under her business name, or, d/b/a rather (which is the company name).
After several attempts of trying to get her to commit to a payment plan, the collections agency told her they were putting her down as a refusal to pay even though she never said that.
We live in the state of Texas … what is likely to happen to her next? I have no experience with legal laws, etc.
I’d also like to add that she said they were naming off accounts from her personal credit report, and asked why she isn’t able to pay off the debt with them, although everyone else is being paid on time. They also mentioned her ex-husband and asked if he was still employed. They have been divorced for two years now.
Real business accounts do not report to consumer credit bureaus and won’t show on personal credit reports. Business debts have different rules and do not have to comply with the FCRA and FDCPA which govern consumer debt.
That does not mean that collection agencies cannot come after her for payment. It is very unlikely that she got those business credit cards WITHOUT signing a personal guarantee, especially if the business was a dba. I worked for a large national company and the office supply store required someone to sign a personal guarantee to get an account.
If her company was only a dba, she’s still personally liable for the debt. Depending on the collection agency, they may just hound her or sell the debt off to another collection agency or they might sue. If the sue and win a judgment, they would be able to attach your bank account and lien her property. I don’t believe Texas permits wage garnishment.
no personal guarantee required credit cards?
I already have a EIN and D&B number. I have also established some trade lines. I’m looking to get business credit cards and business line of credit without using my PG. Can anyone give me some names of companies or websites that do not use your personal SS#
I already have a paydex of 75+ I would just like to keep everything sep. from my personal and business. I have already got some tradelines but I would like to get a visa or mastercard in the business name. I understand there are about 60 banks that do this, but I’m unable to locate them.
SS# establishes your identification and credit rating. Sorry that is the way it operates…
