It’s not really free and it’s a debit, not a credit, card. There are charges to use it. If you have a checking account, you’d be better off getting a free debit card from your bank.

Call around and find out in Canada instead of reading about the US. I just did a google search and came up with several pages of hits on CANADA so why don’t you do the same.
Try American Express. They used to do one.
