Look friend… I have faced a problem … but more horrid one….I applied for SBI card and received one….before applying they had asked me for another bank credit card statement (I possess several but this SBI Credit Card is the only bank I had trouble with in my life) So I had given them the photocopy of my icici credit card statement. Some days past me receiving the card (approx 7-9 days later) I received a payorder of the full balance amount of icici credit card dated the day on which the SBi card was issued, which I had never asked for ! I thought I would just ignore the thing. Just in 3 more days time I received a call on my mobile. It was a collection agency. The no. on my mobile reflected a Delhi/Gurgaon mobile no. The guy started abusing (worst of badwords) forcing and imposing that I had used the money and that I needed to pay Rs.1000.00 towards the balance transfer cheque. Not only was he not ready to listen (when I told him I still have the cheque) he told me to shove the cheque in my a** (hahahaha) and threatened to send Gundas to my house. I received call even from females who sweared and abused as if their job was just to collect money, that’s all. It was only after lodging a complaint at local police station and lots of calls conveying the situation and NC no. to the customer care of SBI did the calls stop. The bottomline is….SBI Credit Cards section is a Big Time fraud….I have several similiar cases in my locality. And in the area where I stay some people including me also conducted a procession against SBI cards. I am taking all this trouble to type the details because I do not want anybody to be in trouble because of SBI cards. Best advice to U is….Cancel the bloody card immediately ( I am sure its not an easy process…unless U call them a 100 times and the retention fellas show how much they are concerned…naturally as they are loosing a big fat cock (murga) or goat (bakra) who can earn them lots of revenue unknowingly (dontcha see ?) and trust me U will thank me for the same….because the worse may be yet to come in your life if U don’t. How to get a State Bank of India credit card?
The bank employees are all lazy people and they’re not giving any details.
And I heard there’s no use in filling out the application form on their website also.
What other way is there to get an SBI credit card? Is SBI even giving out
credit cards currently?
I have already contacted my bank. They’re too lazy to even give me the details.
And even their customer support is so good they’ve not even replied to my email after a week also.
Please go to http://www.sbicard.com and click on Apply Online button (on right hand side). choose sbi card, and fill relevant details.
they never hangup unless it was a fake one ,next time someone calls you just tell them you are interested and ask for personal meeting if they ask you information ask them how they got your phone number
coming to credit card you can always get one if contact the bank directly just show them your account balance sheet if it low you can make some fixed deposit for short term and show them how thick your wallet is they are eager for good customers as they need someone to charge for
but i advice you to take a debit card easy to get and easy to maintain no extra intrest on spendings

Hi,
I made an application for Sbi card during Dec/2006 . As I left India on that period , I put forward a request to customer service to cancel Sbi card that I delivered,but not opened or transacted.
After July/2007 occasionally(not every month though) , I am getting an email with statement carrying 3xx Rs.
To clarif the curiosity about the amount stated, I called cutomer service to know more about my account. I got reply the amount charged(250 Rs.) was for an insurance ,which I knowingly did not signed for.As I believed SBI and could not even think of it as an insurance for an unopened account.
So I asked the customer service executive about the Insurance policy number for wich I need to pay . Reply I got was ,they do not have any insurance policy number . But still I need to pay for it.
Did anyone face same kind of hidden insurance trouble without policy number?
How is this valid ,for a non opened card.
In one of the supporting document received witht the card, it stated that all terms and conditions are accepted ,only if we use the card by signing it in the back.

Just now I got a call from SBI. she asked me whether I have any other bank’s card, I said No. She asked my date of birth and name… When I said my 1st name, she asked “Is ******* ur full name”. I told Yes and she disconnected saying will call u back. How can I know what is the reason?
