Let's face it, being a small business owner can be really difficult at times. Not only do you have to stay on top of the business side of things, you also have to actually provide a service to the customers. At times, it can be challenging - even overwhelming.

One tool that can really assist a small business owner is a small business creditcard. Now, you may not immediately think of a credit card as a tool that can help you run your business, but I'm going to explain how it can be. If you haven't already done so, here are some reasons why you should consider applying for one:

1. A small business credit card gives you an easy way to keep your personal expenses separate from business expenses. I can't tell you how much easier this makes things when the tax man cometh, but I would never go back to using one card... ever.

2. With your small business creditcard, you won't need to worry about reimbursing employee purchases anymore. When you send an employee out to make a purchase for your business, simply send them with your card! Piece of cake.

3. Your new creditcard will allow you to being building a credit history for your business and you can even earn rewards for using it. Applying for a small business rewards card will not only earn you "perks" such as airline miles, online shopping credits, gasoline, etc... it will also build the credit rating for your business (assuming you pay the bills on time!).

As a small business owner, a credit card will really come in handy. Not only will it make things easier on you from a management standpoint, you'll also enjoy some added perks to becoming a cardholder. Highly recommended for anyone who is starting a small business or already owns one.

    Building up my credit? (student)?
I was reading a post on a forum about how a recent graduate from college and could not get a credit card because there is nothing on her credit report. This made me think about myself because I have never had a credit card. I just turned 18 and am not sure what to do. Is it too late for me to build up my credit? I’ve heard some people had credit cards at a much younger age to build credit. I’m afraid that its too late to start building up my credit now? is it?

also i’ve heard a good way to increase your credit score is to have your parents put you on their card? is this true? My parents have good credit so would this help me?
Shermamoma: your advice seems very good, but i’m looking more into the future. Like when I need to buy my own house or my own car. I know that I won’t be able to pay all of that in one sitting, so I would need to take out loans and such. Isn’t that based on your credit score?

How does one get their credit score updated quickly after paying off credit cards?
    Hi experts!

I’m in the process of paying off my credit card debt in hopes of raising my FICO score before refinancing my student loans. I really want to get the loans refinanced ASAP as my monthly payments are currently absurd.

My problem is that even though I can afford to pay my credit card debt off now, I know the FICO score won’t update for 2-4 weeks. I’ve read on some other posts in this forum that one can make some calls to rush the credit report updating process, however I wasn’t quite understanding who I should call and exactly what I should say. Do I call my credit card issuer or is there a bureau I should be contacting? Does anyone know of any other options besides calling that may be better?

I really really appreciate your time and help…it will end up saving me lots of money! All advice is welcome and highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Curt

Can a bad credit history effect new Tier 4 Student Visa application?
    Dear All,

    I have been reading your comments and expert advice on several immigration issues, and I found this forum very useful, however I need your expert advice on our fresh Tier 4 visa application. I have been granted a first student visa back in 2003, and I lived in the UK until August 2008, however In 2007, I have been offered a job placement, where I worked until March 2008 on their work permit but unfortunately due to a credit crunch my company asked me to leave due to a lack of in house projects. I also apply for some loan and used some overdraft facility in 2007 but I could not pay off because I had no income to pay monthly instalments. In May 2008, I had a job offer from Dubai company and I left the UK without paying them off. Now I and my wife are planning to come back to UK, but this time, my wife will be the main applicant (Tier 4 Student Visa) and my son and I will be on dependant visa, mainly I have some important questions to ask regarding our application, I would highly appreciate your expert advice on that;

1.I believe that I have a bad credit history in the past, and we are now applying for a fresh student and dependant visa outside from the UK, you think that the home office will check my (Dependant) previous history and they will make a decision based on that, or home office has no connection with the banks etc?

2.How far the immigration will assess our application, however my wife already met the minimum requirement for student visa?

3.In addition to this I have never been convicted in any criminal offence, but unfortunately I have been enable to pay my loans and credit card payment off, does our application effect my visa application, my wife and my son visa?

4.I am now willing to pay all of my debts in the UK and I will never apply for any loan and credit cards again in my entire life.

You can also send me your opinion on pacalt786@gmail.com

    Thanks

there are a couple of ways you could start building credit, you could get a small personal loan which you might need a cosigner or the best way will be getting a credit cards, you could get a credit card and use it for your every day expenses but make sure you pay in full at the end of the month that way it will show pay in full everytime the credit card company reports to the credit beuros. At the begining you will only be approved for the lower end credit cards but once you build credit in about 6-9 months you should be able to apply for a better card with better benefits such as free miles or cash back. Check out http://www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under bad or no credit section and you will find a few choices. But if you are a student apply of a student credit card these cards have no annual fees and low rates.

You can only get them to remove inaccurate information, and then you must wait. A letter from you will only be attached to your record. You may be correct, but the best you can do it to pay off now, and then when you know when your FICA is updated, then get the record of it and apply.

This is like pushing on a string. You won’t get anywhere. The credit bureaus are not equipped to respond to each and every phone call, except in the case of fraud or stolen credit or stolen ATM cards.

Where can I find info about how my non-profit theater company can offer college credit to theater students?
My theater company just recently went non-profit. We’d like to offer internships for college credit next summer. Where can I find more information about this? Also, is there an online forum where non-profit owners can get together and chat? Please let me know. Thanks!!

What credit score is a good minimum to obtain a private student loan?
I’ve searched online and in this forum but can’t find an answer to my specific question. I have already obtained Stafford Loans (unsubsidized and subsidized), but make too much money to get a Pell grant. So far I have received a little in scholarships. However all of this is still not enough. My credit isn’t bad, but isn’t great – in the 620s. I need about $20k more per yr after my other aid and my part time job. I recently paid off 3 out of 4 credit cards and have a few months before my 4th is paid off. I’m working on getting my score higher.

I’ve been at my job for 2 yrs and don’t think I’ll have any problem meeting the income requirements. My credit lines, however, are only 1 yr old. I would like to obtain a loan for the next school year. Does anyone know, given my circumstances, what score would be a generally accepted minimum to be able to obtain a private student loan (of any amount)? Also, would choosing to start making payments immediately help my chances and/or interest rate?
